Polaris to success

"A teacher is a compass that activates the magnets of curiosity, knowledge and wisdom."
-Ever Garison

They are the one who will help to ignite the fire within us, in order to reach the end of the journey we are travelling to. They are our Polaris, the star that will guide us to success. They are our visual source of knowledge. Our teachers play a great and most important role in our lives. They helps us to improve our skill level, confidence as well as they shape us in the right shape to get successful in due time. Yes, they are our second family, our teachers.

Every now and then, we are celebrating Teacher's Day to show our gratitude, love and respect to our teachers. Teachers are like real potters who not only give our life a shape, but also enable to lit like a lamp forever after dispelling the darkness from all across the world. So that, our nation can be enlightened with lots of bright lamps. Therefore, the nation pays homage and respect to all the teachers in the country. Teachers’ job is one of the toughest jobs in the world as they are given the responsibility to nurture young minds. They are given a class full of students. Each student is unique and has a different calibre. A good teacher helps the students explore their interest and identify their capabilities. She/he encourages the students to hone their skills in the subjects or activities they are interested in and at the same time ensures they do not neglect other subjects or academics as a whole.

So we have come to know that the Teacher’s Day is a very important day in the life of every person because every individual of the nation whether, young or old, has been a student some day. A student and teacher’s relation is the most important thing in our nation that needs to be maintained for a long time to make the nation leader of the world.

Sports: a medium to tranquility

“Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.”
― Michael Jordan

Intramurals are an organization of sports teams created for students who seek the opportunity to play sports. Those who participate in intramurals range in age, ability, and gender. These sports teams allow students to play a sport they enjoy without committing to a varsity team. Intramurals are designed for everyone to have fun but still have a competitive edge.

Intramurals is a week of fun. It is a break for us students from stress and frustration. There are many possible ways as a student at ISNHS to get involved in intramurals. Involvement in intramurals gives the chance to not only play sports that are enjoyable, but also the opportunity to meet new people and develop a relationship with them.

Different kinds of sports were played at the open field of ISNHS  last September 12-14, 2019. I enjoyed watching them, especially on volleyball girls and boys. The happiness I felt during this days are remarkable.

School: a paradise of learning

"Happiness and school quality are inseparable as the happy schools framework serves as reference for measuring the quality of our education,” Garma said.

School is the place wherein we discover new things, adapt new atmosphere and innovation take place. May 30 2019, The Department of Education (DepEd)-Region 1 had launched the “Happy Schools Movement” (HSM).The movement seeks to promote every school in the region as a better and enjoyable place to study. The movement aims to inculcate in the minds of pupils that school is not just a place for learning but also a place for fun and enjoyment as they enjoy what they are doing.

In the 2015 World Happiness Report, director of the Wellbeing Programme at the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics, and Ann Hagell, Ph.D., studied the well-being and mental health of children around the world, and then introduced specific recommendations for improving those conditions. They noted the important role an educational environment plays in children’s happiness and recommended that meeting the needs of children meant establishing well-being as a major objective for schools.

“Our credo for this movement is Region 1 is a region of happy schools with disciplined, value-laden, and motivated learning communities of holistically developed Filipinos with 21st Century skills,” Garma said.

Unity for a better nation

"There is no stability without solidarity and no solidarity without stability."- Jose Manuel Barroso

Solidarity is an awareness of shared interests, objectives, standards, and sympathies creating a psychological sense of unity of groups or classes. Solidarity build up mutual care and concern for justice. The capacity of groups to solidify is directly associated with their capacity to organize about significant issues, events, visions, and/or threats. Thus the capacity to solidify is evidence of the capacity to survive, thrive, persist, and promote group interests, viability, and/or vitality.

Every now and then, our local province celebrates Solidarity Month to promote unity in diversity, that was pass down from generation to generation. Different activities will be held to welcome the Solidarity Month such as Opening of the Solidarity Festival Food and Trade, Folkdance Competition; and Zarzuela Ilocana, a lyric-dramatic genre that alternates between spoken and sung scene.

Solidarity Month has an important role on our culture. According to an article I stumbled a few months ago," The first step in the evolution of ethics is a sense of solidarity with other human beings."
