Unity for a better nation

"There is no stability without solidarity and no solidarity without stability."- Jose Manuel Barroso

Solidarity is an awareness of shared interests, objectives, standards, and sympathies creating a psychological sense of unity of groups or classes. Solidarity build up mutual care and concern for justice. The capacity of groups to solidify is directly associated with their capacity to organize about significant issues, events, visions, and/or threats. Thus the capacity to solidify is evidence of the capacity to survive, thrive, persist, and promote group interests, viability, and/or vitality.

Every now and then, our local province celebrates Solidarity Month to promote unity in diversity, that was pass down from generation to generation. Different activities will be held to welcome the Solidarity Month such as Opening of the Solidarity Festival Food and Trade, Folkdance Competition; and Zarzuela Ilocana, a lyric-dramatic genre that alternates between spoken and sung scene.

Solidarity Month has an important role on our culture. According to an article I stumbled a few months ago," The first step in the evolution of ethics is a sense of solidarity with other human beings."
